Jessica Schecter

CMC NSLC SC Director**

Jessica was born in Germany while her father served in the United States Air Force and was raised in Seabeck, Washington. She spent many years working in banking and is currently completing a course in bookkeeping, which will allow her to work remotely and continue supporting military families wherever the Navy sends them.

Jessica met and married her husband, Matt, more than twenty years ago. They are part of the submarine community, and together have navigated multiple sea and shore tours. Matt has served aboard four submarines—USS Hawkbill (SSN 666), USS Michigan – Blue (SSBN 727), USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN 705), and USS Topeka (SSN 754)—and as Command Master Chief for Submarine Readiness Squadron 32, Submarine Squadron Twelve, Commander, Submarine Group 9, and Force Master Chief for Commander, Submarine Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet. He currently serves as the Force Master Chief for Commander, Submarine Forces, U.S. Atlantic Fleet.

Over the past two decades, Jessica has been an active volunteer and advocate for the Navy spouse community. Her experience includes serving as a mentor for the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center Spouse Leadership Course, buyer for The Dolphin Store Hawaii, Family Readiness Group President, and organizer for the Chief Petty Officer Selectee Spouse Symposium. She has also served as an Ombudsman—a role especially close to her heart—supporting command families and strengthening communication between sailors and their loved ones.

Jessica and Matt have one son and two dogs. She enjoys walking her dogs, painting, reading, and writing, and especially loves reading books about history and historical fiction. The Schecters currently call Norfolk, Virginia, their temporary home until the Navy calls them elsewhere.
